Comme révélé, le scénario du film sera écrit par les scénaristes de Venom , à savoir Scott Rosenberg et Jeff Pinkner. Avi Arad et Air Arad d’ Arad Productions superviseront la production du projet. La bande dessinée web a inspiré avec succès un manga conçu par Yusuke Murata, puis a reçu une adaptation pour une série animée, avec sa deuxième saison diffusée en avril 2019. Créé par ONE en 2009, One-Punch Man a commencé comme une bande dessinée web.
